2004 British GT Championship - Rounds 9-10
Bad Luck Continues for Team Jedi Racing at Oulton
Park
Team Jedi Racing failed to finish either race at Oulton
Park due to a puncture and broken water hose fastening.
The team had regular Driver Frazer Corbyn back after Ian
Stinton had stood in for him at Castle Coombe and were optimistic
that they were in for a better weekend. But the bad luck
that had dogged the Castle Coombe weekend was still very
much with them.
Rob Horsfield started the Saturday race, but managed only
8 laps before a puncture caused him to loose control and
beech the car in a gravel trap.
Frazer Corbyn faired little better on Sunday. He managed
ten laps and was 8th in class when a water-hose fastening
clip failed. The car lost all its cooling water and was forced
to retire.
"It was definitely the most frustrating weekends racing
I have ever had!" Said Rob Horsfield, "We had
2 very small failures which ended both races."
The Teams next outing is at the Lotus Owners Club charity
day on the 31st July. It takes place at the Bruntingthorpe
Aerodrome. Team Jedi will be giving passenger rides in
the Lotus to raise money for charity. They will also
have support
on the day from ex-page 3 girl Jakki Degg.
The next British GT rounds are at Silverstone on the 13th
to 15th August, when the championship will be supporting
the 1000km British round of the Le Mans Endurance Series.
